My brother uses one on his, cost was £350 TomTom rider. I prefer to go out and get lost, makes the ride longer and gives you another excuse to the wife.

Yeah, I go back and forth on that point as well. I have been lost in the Oregon back country many times, and other than a few brief panic attacks when I thought I might run out of gas and never be found again, I quite enjoy it.
Getting lost did cost me a few bucks about a year ago when I took my wife along for a one hour ride that turned into a 6 hour ordeal. It was a wonderful ride through the mountains following a river that ended up at the Pacific Ocean. When we left it was warm and sunny, but by the time we got to the coast it was dark and cold, so I we had to stop and purchase some overalls and a sweatshirt for my wife. A GPS would have been nice on this trip, but I'm sure glad I didn't have an intercom system. It was bad enough getting punched in the kidneys all the way home!

Fortunately, locations aren't too hard to find out in the rural areas. My customers give me good directions....take the first left at the old red barn, follow it till you cross the old single lane bridge, take a right at the crooked oak tree and the follow it till you come to where the road Y's, take the split to the left and go past the grain elevator, cross the railroads tracks and then go right when you come to old church, then go left at the green mailbox.
No problem. |

Brent,
Have had a TomTom GO910 in the yukon for 2 years. I have a Garmin 2720 on the Gold Wong. Most of my riding buddies use the 2720 or 2610 on the bikes. They are waterproof but DO NOT have Bluetooth. The garmin I like it a little better than the Tom. |
