Starstruck, the remarks to my photo are totaly tongue in cheek and are meant to be taken in humour. The MTN is the paper that goes out for our business I am suprised you do not get it. It is a valuable source of information concerning the Mobile Technician hence the name. It is also the organiser and sponsor of the Mobile Tech Expo. Was that nice enough everybody?

Get a Tent park on a Highway if you have to 1000''s of cars drive past you'll have a good day even if 4-5 of them stop over.. Come on ppl lets have a possitive attitude to Help newcomers.. It is more about being proactive not inactive, this was the real line I wanted you to read. Those dealers and fleet you called, call in and see them ten times at least before you give up, show them what quality work looks like.
Many times a guy will give up on the first visit, very few times do we get work this way. The best customers are the ones you have to work hardest to get, this means anyone wanting to take them off you will have to work even harder. This guy has already said I helped him, maybe he read my remarks and advice in a way many of you did not.

What the forum has is the "Search" function which is useful if you know what you're looking for.
So, FLASH, I think we need to establish a "Due Dilligence" checklist of all the things a newbie needs to do and research before deciding to get into this business as well what to do when they decide to make the committment. And, of course, include the "keywords" to use when using the search function.
Then, perhaps Brent would consider making it a "sticky", that is if we can make it easy to understand.

All that said, my first item for inclusion is:
1. Do you have the physical ability to perform windshields repairs? Do you have good "hand/eye" coordination? Do you have the physical stamina to get up on a step stool and maintain your balance while repairing a chip on a tall Dodge Ram truck?

Anyone else want to chime in?
These are some good ideas, but sorting through old threads and categorizing all the posts is just not practical for me from a time standpoint. I am willing to STICK a thread for those new to the forum however, and will even consider creating a new forum for those new to this site that would be for those new to windshield repair and those new to this site. However, judging by the lack of activity on other sub-forums we have here, I'm not sure how well that will be received.

One thing that I can do is combine threads from time to time, so if you see a new subject that you feel has been adequitly covered in previous threads, you are welcome to PM me or publicly suggest that I combine the two threads and provide the link to the other thread. I will no doubt get some private messages accusing me of deleting threads, but it would reduce the amount of searching required to get information on any particular subject.

Although it does search the Delta Kits site as well as the windshield repair forum site, I feel the Google search on the Delta Kits site often works better than the search function on the windshield repair forum, when searching for key words. Using either search still requires some manual filtering to find what you are looking or at times due to the vast amount of information on the windshield repair forum.

That line is now 2 years out of date Rocky I consider a proper price to a around the £40 to £50 area sometime we get more a very few old time loyal quick paying customers get it for £35. Have you ever purchased resin from me? There has been a price increase but I have also increased the amount. PM me if you would like to know more please.
