Hey Everyone,
I was called today by a friend named Terrance who for some reason can't get online to post topics on this forum. He asked me to post one for him so here it goes. For those who have been in this business for a while. How did you get started. Did you jump into it all at once and go full time; or did you just do it part time and work your way into it slowly. Also in addition to that, if you are married how did you families handle that. Where you met with scepticizm, resistance or full blown support. For myself personaly to answer this question, I got into the business when I was 19 years old and I started working for a Replacement Facility. I learned how to fix chips but I was primarly focused on Selling windshields and running phone rooms and marketing programs for getting new customers. After I left that company I did repairs full time to save up money to open my own replacement/repair facility. Over the course of the next 9 years I did both repair and replacement. I personaly gave up the replacement business about 2 years ago and just do repairs now. However my family supported me the full time because they knew I had experiance in this industry. Hope that helps, I am not really the person to ask for this thread, but that is my two cents. David Coitster
