130 pounds of Bouvier Des Flounders sounds like the main course at a glutton convention for weighty epicures.

I'm going to look that breed up on the internet since I've never heard of it before.

I had a Jack Russell terrier with an attitude. He chased a car down the street one day, bit into the whirling steelbelt tire and I haven't seen him since.

To recap, the movie idea sounds good on a short lease term or trial basis as others have suggested.

If you have an outside booth or tent at a flea market and the weather is good, those are great places to setup. You can effect the repair right then and there while drawing a crowd of on-lookers and more potential customers.

It's nice to have a known business location to refer customers to. Mine is the right of way adjacent to traffic light outside Wal_Mart. $150 a year open-air vendor's permit for Gillions of drivers watching me piddle around while their light is red. I've yet to earn enough to pay for the permit?:~(

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

One can (for the right price) certainly hire an attorney (if the landlord is willing) and construct a lease that allows for longevity.

Years ago, I had opened a Bar & Grill. Considering the amount of money that was required to remodel the location, a 1 year lease was out of the question. So, the landlord, myself and our attorneys got together and ultimately wound up with a 5 year lease with a guaranteed 5 year renewal. Of course, annual increases were included in the lease (up to a max percent per year). This ensured that I would at least have enough time to re-capture invested capital as well as a suitable period of time for profitable operation of the business.

In a "tented" location, where the poperty improvement investment isn't really that great and the earning potential for the location is unknown, I could only suggest something that doesn't lock you in for eons. But, do everything you can to "Brand" your services and let your customers know that it is YOUR COMPANY that is providing excellent repairs, regardless of location.

I have actually been considering printing some transparent stickers (kinda like the quickie lube places use) that I can apply to the interior of their windshield advising the customer to call me when they need my services.

I would hope that not having to fumble for a card/chipsaver AND that my name is subliminally present at all times might actually serve as a constant reminder that I am there for them when they need me?

I had vinyl 1x2.5 clear stickers made up and put them inside the top left like the oil change stickers that say:
Windshield Repairs Maintained By
GLASS TECHNOLOGY
520 --- ----

This is for incase they loose all the cards they get or if the auto sells the next person they will know were to go after they see or not see the work that has been done. New cust's at that point.
