Well I thought this would get interesting. I have to say fmfan I feel for you. What ever life situation has arisen I hope it is resolved soon and you can be released from you tenure at the tpa and find an employer who doesn't have to resort to employing lawyers and such to operate on the fringe in order to maintain their business. Personally have been desperate enough to allow myself to be a part of the type of employment situation you’re currently involved with and I don't envy your position any. Not to be dogging you any, I just had to have those experiences in order to get to the place where I can stand for something and not be told to operate against my own feelings about how I treat my fellow man. I believe this to be the place on the path of life that you’re currently occupying and my opinion, well I just feel for you. Having to continually defend your situation and avoid discussing as big of part of your life as your job is a problem in my life. I will no longer have anything in my life that I am required to keep from any one any time I don't need the headaches and the effort required especially for an entity that will eventually spit you out and run you down in order to perpetuate it's own SELF INTEREST. I had to be self absorbed for a very long time and my life was a disappointment to me for a very long time before I was given the keys to freedom by a person who learned the same way I did. Now if you’re honest with your self I believe you time is limited in your current situation or we wouldn’t be on this thread,
I used to make excuses for my actions all the time until I was given the truth about me and the fact that I was the only person who was satisfied with my excuses. This is why I keep coming back to the place where I feel for your situation you see I have signed you paycheck a time or two and I don't have to sacrifice me any more. They have no hold on me any more. I put my head on my pillow each night and review my situation and if I'm not sleeping right I do something about ME. I protect my right to sleep with all I am cause that is what I have. And I'll eat from the dumpster before I sacrifice my integrity ever again!! The folks who you work for are the same ones who I was given my lessons by. Their belief system allows them to perpetuate this kind of vile treatment on the young and unsuspecting public. I am just one person but I will continue to expose the folks who feed this situation for what they are, they see themselves as inadequate, unable, unworthy, things that are not true in reality but they continue because of the belief system. The truly humorous part of all of this is the FACT that safelite would win hands down on a level playing field but they believe they have to cheat in order to get by, in the end it may be their undoing if enough folks see who they have become they won't have any customers. I hope I haven't broken the terms on the forum here, I mean you no harm fm I just see things this way and hope to have helped in some way. Scott

"Does anybody go into a lawsuit with the intention to lose? Of course not, do millions of people lose lawsuits every year? Yes."
Can't argue that.

"Believe it or not, I do hide the identity of my employer because customers are confused by whom they are speaking to."
Legal or not this is fraudulent and hides the fact you work for Safelite.

"I can't schedule them with any shop but their shop of preference."
Does the script (They are not a preferred vendor and as such the work won't be guaranteed) or something to that effect sound familiar.

"Some insurance companies really hate us, no really, their employees like us less then you do."
The employees may well "hate" you. The insurance companies however are about making money. As long as they see Safelite as saving them money they love you.

The simple fact is right is right and wrong is wrong. These practices you defend may be legal(I'll leave that up to the courts to decide). They are certainly not ethical. As Maxryde said someday you'll understand this. I also used to work for a corporation that did things that would make Enron and Martha Stewart blush. It's just not the way to conduct business.

I have lost 3 jobs that I know of and can verify it. The glass business is hard enough to get customes no one needs some company taking what you have worked for, and then telling everyone that they are on the up and up. But how can there be no conflict of instest when you make the glass, install the glass and then give referal numbers to other glass shops and then send that referal to your own company so that they can call your customer to take that job away!
