windshield,
The information you would get from books or videos is only the tip of the iceberg on windshield replacements. Your best bet would be to find a reputable shop in your area that could train you. There are general principles you should know when doing replacements however there are specific challenges for each type of vehicle and no amount of reading can prepare you for some of these challenges. A good installer will show you the ropes and the proper way to install a windshield. A bad installer will give you a crash course on windshield installation and set you free on your own. Windshield installers never stop learning. For every new vehicle produced they have to learn the ins and outs for that specific model. Once you think you have it down the manufacturers will come out with a new body style and you have to figure out how they intended for this windshield to be replaced. At times it seems like that was the last thing they worried about when designing their vehicle. Bryan |
