I use a battery setup that came with a 6 volt dremel 760-01 I got at Home Depot awhile back. It holds 4 alkaline or rechargeable AA's. I get something like 100 jobs out of a recharge.

The Blazer GB2001 is a great little butane torch - mine has worked fine for over 20 years. Metal vs. plastic parts, one-handed operation. Around $50 and well worth it.

Impala -- you are packing cured resin into the gaps between the 6 little blades on your burs. If you heat the tip just right with a lighter or torch, the old resin will burn and can be wiped or brushed away - giving you some more use out of the bur. Doesn't sound like it will work, does it?
