Re: How much does Safelite get for every Job billed

Here in South Carolina a law was just passed that is supposed to eliminate or reduce the Safelite TPA preference to Safelite Glass. Sounds good in theory but who is honestly going to enforce it? IMO the trade associations should be pushing for legislation and licensing. Require the distributors and...

Re: How much does Safelite get for every Job billed

I understand where the OP is coming from...it's unethical business practices at the least and could be considered racketeering almost. I'm surprised they arent violating some fair trade laws but I'm no lawyer.

Auto Glass Week - Too Expensive!?!?!

Anybody going to Auto Glass Week? I have several issues with what the AGRSS is doing with this trade show...I called and talked to Deb Levy and was laughed at and told I was a liar, needless to say everything I stated to her and what I have posted here and on glass bytes is 100% factual and in black...

Re: Where'd my pit go?

Brent I do not feel as though it is an issue with your products. You are correct, the pit has not entirely fallen out but gouged and there's a definte void in the pit. Im beginning to think that an ice scraper might have caught the edge and screwed up the pit. To fix it I cleaned any looses resin fr...

Re: Where'd my pit go?

I need to rephrase my original post because it sounds like I am having this issue a lot and that is not the case. In fact after thinking about it more, I have only had 2 pits fall out from repairs that I performed in the past several years. I have however repaired several others that have had the pi...

Re: Where'd my pit go?

I use Delta Kits products and techniques. This latest call about a pit falling out was from a repair I performed in 2010....so I don't recall the weather.

Where'd my pit go?

I have had a few customers lately report that the pits were falling out of my repairs. There seems to be no rhyme or reason either. Any suggestions to help insure this won't happen in the future?

Re: Suction cup marks?

A. For me it is standard procedure to clean the entire windshield after one of my repairs. B. If possible I always use a mirror...usually I remove it and replace it several times thruout the repair process. C. Seldom do I feel the need to use a lighter but I have had too and it's a good technique to...
