Re: 2016 Jeep Renegade Winshield bubbles

Definitely a delamination problem during manufacture. Over time, water will seep into the delamination and turn the interlayer ( PVB) back to its original colour i.e. opaque white. The only resolution is to replace the windshield.

Re: Gouged paint, among other things.

Totally agree with kennycrane. To give you your car back, in that condition, is diabolical. It is bad enough with what is visible, God knows what the obscuration band is hiding. If that were my car, I would want the windshield removed, all pinch weld area fully repainted and the windshield refitted ...

Re: Best Brand windshield

Good advice from Dempster glass, regarding fitment. The only thing I would add is the new glass may have a different thickness to original so do a dry run for shape and trim gap to get correct height and ideally, while the pu is still in its workable phase, fit glass and trims and ease glass out to ...

Re: How to increase speed? Average windshield replacement a day?

My advice to edrew1994, Is to firstly understand that most customers are more concerned about how well you do the job rather than how quick. You never hear " he did a crap job but at least he was fast" . Of course you want to achieve the best efficiency and the way to do that is analyse again and ag...

Just googled " causes of a sweet smell in your car" and the resulting replies, point towards a possible leak in the coolant system.

Re: Weird dirty effect on windshield, like spider webs.

Two possible causes a) Marks left from rubber suckers, used in the glass manufacture ( silicone contamination) b) marks caused by plastic packaging, the windscreen was kept in prior to fitting, being soaked ( usually by being left out in the rain ) and the chemical in the plastic bag stains the glas...

Re: Please help me information on windshields

Sorry to see and hear about your damage. Looking at the impact, it seems the projectile was travelling at a high velocity but was relatively small. If the your vehicle was parked in your driveway I would not rule out a pellet gun hit and judging by the damage, it may have hit then ricocheted over th...

Re: Replacing windshield on 2014 Mazda 6

Not sure where you are in the world jgm0348 but if you have not been trained to re-calibrate ADAS, you need to advise your customer to have this done at a Mazda main dealer who has the correct equipment and trained staff. In the uk, some replacement companies have geared up for this service while ot...

Re: Pit Resin advice needed

Hi Flo,
For supplies, It might be worth trying a windscreen replacement company that's near to you who also advertise glass repairs. They might not be helpful, but it's worth a try.

Re: Three Windshields Later, Still Not Satisfied

The next time you go for a replacement windshield, insist on a OE ( Original Equipment) windshield. Why? - the glass will be a perfect fit for your car and the glass quality will be high. How do I know it is an OE windshield? - look at your doorglasses - usually, the markings on it will tell you the...
