Re: Wire removal systems

I'm a former factory trained Mercedes Benz tech. We used a tool called Rollout 2000 on all of our windshield replacements. I've only used this particular tool to remove windshields and I loved it. Effortless to work with and prevents paint scratching when used properly. Often times after cutt out th...

Re: Any tips on 2011 Mercedes Benz GLK350 windshield replace

I replaced glass at a Mercedes dealership for 7 years. We used a tool called rollout 2000. It's a very easy glass to replace. What do you need to know?
Be careful when removing the exterior side moldings. The molding can bend upon removal and cause wind noise after install.

Re: You offer any perks while completing a repair?

I squeegee the windshield after every repair and wipe the inside if I used a mirror. Once I started to do this I started to get the occasional tip here and there. I try to engage the customer while I'm cleaning and often say something like "I'm a much better chip repairman than I am a window cleaner...

Re: Newbie intro / Air Bubble and Flowering issues

I knew I wasnt the only victim! I've had the same issue with the trapped bubble in my finished repair but only on repairs that I've drilled. I make absolutely certain that I've removed all of the air from the break before I remove the bridge, place tab and cure. But too often that little bubble some...

Re: Question about hiring help

My question directed more towards how do you find the people you consider to hire. But thanks for your response.

Question about hiring help

Hello all! Business has been going fairly well for me lately. Very thankful for that. Heres the deal... I have an opportunity to secure 2 to 3 additional tent locations at busy gas stations with the owner of the gas station that I'm currently working with. I would really like to expand to these othe...

I'm up and running...finally!

After alot of procrastination I am finally doing this. Today marks the end of Day 2. I will be working d2d residential. Today I secured a tent location in a small parking lot with a convenience store and a 4 pump gas station in the lot. It is also across the street from a large chain hand-carwash jo...
