Re: Fear the drill and tap??

Hit a dismantling yard, or a glass shop, pick up a Toyota windshield for 20-30 bucks.

Build yourself a stand like this:

Drill and Tap all day gents.

Note: Build the stand out of at least 1 1/2" and not 1" like I did ;)

Re: Soliciting permit in southern california??

Kent if you just go around on your own in a unmarked car you can avoid the license I did for a long time. Start doing commercial stuff it's going to get asked for eventually. Set up in a gas station or carwash the competition will call and turn you in code enforcement will show up and write you a t...

Re: Sample Invoice

Hey Korey,

I see this has been said before here but I'll say it again

Can you shoot me a copy of the invoice?

I tried to DL it from the link posted in posting one but it seems to be corrupted for me when I open the doc.

Thanks,

Wayneious.

When is a razor just a razor?

Gents, I am wondering if anyone has a preference for one razor blade or the other? When looking at the blades that are out there and the ones I've tried, I see the majority as being rough and I'm wondering if anyone has tried using (with care mind you) a safety razor blade for the scraping of the re...

Re: 9.99 hlr kit at harbor freight

Not everybody buys on price, I would say for most of the services I offer that I am the most expensive in my area, seems I am also the busiest. Keep selling and keep selling. I would tend to agree here. Everyone can do their own oil, most simply choose to have someone else do it for them (even me)....

Re: The skill/equipment/efficiency balance

Looking through some of the posts and replies I was thinking if the windshield needed to be warmed up, why not use a heating pad and either lay it over the crack/chip area for a bit? If you have access to the interior, using a piece of foam that has been cut into a wedge shape, then press the pad ag...

Re: Heavy Equipment Windshield Polishing?

Not sure how many heavy equipment windshields are polycarbonate and how many are glass. I've replaced a lot of glass for logging and construction companies and a few poly but perhaps poly is becoming more popular. The companies I worked with did not like poly because it scratches far easier than gl...

Re: Building Your Retail Windshield Repair Business

Greetings all, I have only been in the WSR business for about 6 months, and only part time. However, I have found a few marketing strategies that have worked, and a few that haven't. The most profitable for me has been working at a local carwash. I like it because I don't have to keep driving from ...
