Besides dealerships, what other places make good fleet accounts?

I'm looking to get some fleet accounts, but where else can I go knock on doors besides car dealerships?

Rubbing a cork on from the inside, what's it for?

I've seen videos of techs rubbing a cork on the chip from the inside of the car, what's the reason for it?

Do any of you all have employees

I want to hire another person or two but I have a fear that they will steal customers and do repairs outside of work hours. It just doesn't seem fair after I spend time and money on their training, tools, and legal fees. So how do you all prevent this from happening? I know it's impossible, but what...

So My Tent Broke, Need Advice

Just this morning, I found my tent completely bent due to high winds. I had each leg inside a 5-gallon bucket filled with cement, but it still managed to tip over and break. It doesn't get really windy here, usually 5-7mph winds. But lately, the winds have been between 10-18mph, today they were at 3...

How To Raise My Prices I'm the cheapest in town.

So I've been in business for about 6 months now and it's been a bit unsteady. I'm not making as much money as I anticipated and it's all due to my pricing. The other companies in town charge anywhere from $30-$70 for a single chip. Including my previous employer. The average in my area is $50. Since...

Re: Can insurances pay for cracks longer than 6 inches?

1) I don't charge a base rate for every 6in. 2) I charge anywhere from $40-$80 depending on the size of the crack. 3) I do use crack expanders 4) I drill at the end of the crack and make a bullseye with a slide hammer. I then go through the vacuum & pressure cycle. Then I follow the crack with my re...

Re: Can insurances pay for cracks longer than 6 inches?

I can comfortably repair cracks that are 24in. I once did a crack that was 4 feet long, but I let the customer know that I couldn't guarantee exceptional results. I charge depending on the size of the crack; the longer it is the more I charge because it will require more of my time and more supplies...

Can insurances pay for cracks longer than 6 inches?

Hey guys, I'm trying to find the answer to a question that Safelite nor the insurance companies seem to be able to answer me. For the most part, a crack that is longer than 6in. is usually opted for a replacement instead of a repair. I've noticed customers who have longer cracks prefer to get it rep...

How long should a drill bit last?

I know the answer varies depending on how deep you drill and how many repairs you do. I do about 10 repairs a day on average and use 1 drill bit every other day. After a while, they get burnt or remains of the glass stick to the bit which makes them dull. I feel like I'm wasting drill bits because I...

Why do cracks glare? Why do they spread?

I've always liked to learn the science behind stuff, and not just go through the motions. But my former employer didn't like me asking a lot of questions. They would just tell me "Don't worry about that, just do the repair" So now that I have my own WSR business, I still have questions that I can't ...
