Re: Filled chip in windshield - outer edges not filled

Yes, the day I did it it was completely dry outside. Florida tends to get muggy at night so maybe moisture got in? Not sure. Is it possible to drill and refill? Should I take it to a pro? OK I'm guessing by what you said that you did not do a dry out procedure to the damage, so yes I think there wa...

Re: Filled chip in windshield - outer edges not filled

Looks like you left some moisture in the damage. Did you dry the break before repairing?

Re: Curing under pressure

Novus used to teach curing under pressure. They don't teach it anymore. Why did they stop?

I consider curing under pressure a waste of time and I'm getting too old to waste time so I don't do it.

Re: Question for Mobile Repairmen: What Do You Do in Cooler Climates?

Hey all, Quick question for those of you who primarily do mobile WSR, what do you guys do when it gets cold & snowy (assuming you dont have a shop to do the repairs in)? Short answer... Keep working! I have never liked doing repairs in any type of precipitation but the temp never stopped me me from...

Re: Curing under pressure

Why would you cure under pressure? This must be a new procedure? Curing under pressure is not new. Some people cure under pressure because they can't or don't know how to remove all of the air and/or moisture from the damage. Pressure from the resin will force the damage to look filled by compressi...

Re: Parking lot Chip Repair protocol

SGC is the only TPA I've had a problem with. I ask the customer to tell a little fib and say the repair hasn't been started yet. Never had a problem with that. A couple times the customer screwed up and said the repair was already done, they will still pay but they want a faxed invoice and charge an...

Re: Side Glass Repair?

Yes, the repair is the same, pretty much. You need to compensate for the glass being more vertical. It's a little harder to keep the resin at the end of the injector depending on what equipment you're using. I have not had any problems billing insurance, just specify laminated side glass.

Re: Build Customer Base

Screenman pretty much said it all with "knocking on doors". Talk to everyone who will listen. Don't assume anyone is not a customer until he proves he isn't. Once you get in that door you need to show what you can do for them. You need to set yourself apart from your competition. I got most of my ac...

Re: HELP Hand problems

Mine start out as little bumps like you said, then turn into blisters, then just raw skin. I quit wearing gloves, they just seemed to make it worse. Tried many different types of gloves, still had better luck not wearing any and just being careful not to get any resin on me and washing my hands and ...

Re: HELP Hand problems

First stop getting resin on your hands or anywhere on your skin or clothing. Clean everything you touch to get rid of resin build up. Even the steering wheel in your car. My daughter couldn't drive my car because she would get blisters on her hands from my steering wheel. I still get sloppy with the...
