Re: The English Language

Hi Glasseye I am surprised that there has never been a response to your post. I feel you deserve an explanation. Although we speak English in the US, it is very different than that spoken in the UK. We have changed so many meanings of the intended words we use that it is hard for us to keep up. For ...

Re: $150 for delta kit

I get it. I would also add that I would gladly pay $150. to get the kit back that was stolen from me. I would pay an extra $150. for the name of the person who stole it. This kit may be HOT! Check it out, there may be a story behind it. Perhaps someone tried to make a go of it and found out this was...

Re: You offer any perks while completing a repair?

I always clean the windshield inside and out. I do most of it while the repair is being cured. I have discovered other damage that was not previously seen plus it makes me feel better about myself. Former detailer mentality I suppose but evidently it may distinguish you from your competitors. Do not...

Re: Headlight Coating

Hi Roo: I have walked that walk myself and it was on Chevy Impala too. Took over 4 hours but in the future I know I can do it in less than half the time. When I see this type of situation I automatically start hand sanding with 180 grit then 220 before I even start with the sander and 320. When I me...

Spray with WD40 (then scrape with a razor blade). Works better than anything I've ever tried.

So that's why you wore that speedo all week except Friday when you were in Hawaii last month!

Re: like to start

Wow ray6, That was the best and most helpful and accurate post I believe I have ever seen on this subject. I however, do a lot of headlight restoration and use power tools and it does not bother me to have to tape off the area for protective purposes. I absolutely agree with the need to apply a coat...

Re: Post your before and after pics here!!!

I think its a great idea and is perfect for a web page . As "They" say, " A picture is worth a Thousand words". I already take before and after photos of all my headlight restorations and now I will start taking some pictures of the windshield repairs. Wish I had some already that I could use for th...

Re: Airplane Windscreen Repair

Thanks for the information and input Brian. As a former detailer I did not touch aircraft due to the insurance liability or even more so the cost of it. I think I will pass on this job as well. I did look up Micro Mesh and that looks like a good product but I agree that it should be used by a well t...

Airplane Windscreen Repair

Has anyone restored the windscreen on an airplane with the same type of system we use for headlight restoration? Would you finish with a finer grade sand paper? Do you apply a UV Coating or just leave it at the Polish Stage? I've heard it can be done (as well as Motorcycle Fairings, Convertible Top ...
