Re: harder then normal lights list

Another for the 2004 dodge truck with the two domes on each light. Was a pain to get all the sanding marks out. I know this is an old post, but these arent all that bad. The problem isnt in the lens. Its with the kind of disc. We use The same brand Indasa discs but in same cases dont use the Redlin...

Re: magna shine seal kote vs infinity 4.1

Since this is Deltas forum, you should connect with some one at Delta. Im not familiar with the other coating you're asking about but Im a big believer in Infinity. Ive been using it for three years and I haven't had a car come back to me yet that needs to be redone. After its applied the lens looks...

Re: Dealing with temps and the lack of light?

I work until its so cold the water freezes on impact. Lately Ive been doing a ton of Semi's and since they are made out of fiberglass, freezing water isn't a problem. We also work with the headlights on during the whole process for added human warmth and it makes everything work better during the pr...

Re: harder then normal lights list

Hey Candyman, I finally got a chance to do a 2004 Impala yesterday and it was by far the most difficult headlight restoration I have done to date. I thought you and others were exaggerating about how had the factory coating is but I now know you were spot on with this one! Not having had one in our ...

Re: Saab HLR issue unclear???

Ive been burned by Saabs before. You have to look at them carefully. Many of them develop a while smokey appearance INSIDE the lens. Many times its both exterior and interior. I always explain this to the customer so they know what to expect. On dealer lots, I usually just pass on them.

Re: 12 volt power converters ???

To do that correctly, you need to install a jumper battery which would be of the marine type. Your cars electrical system was not meant for continued use possibly all day long on one of these things. To do it correctly, you need to run wires and more work/money than I found to be cost effective. We ...

Re: Shop Towel Substitute?

I was wondering if anyone had any brilliant ideas as to what one could use as a substitute for the lint free paper towels that are typically used to apply the UV sealant. The towels absorb so much of the infinity coating, and a lot goes to waste. Given that the coating isn't exactly cheap, is there...

Re: Marketing Advice?

The cost of professional headlight restoration is minimal. Its less than what it takes to fill up a gas tank (leave the Prius out of that formula) and after you spend the money on bumper paint, dent removal and interior recon, remember that the customer will appreciate all of that only after they ha...

Re: Marketing Advice?

To much info and you'll never get the UCM out on the lot to look at headlights. Getting them to walk the lot with you would be ideal but 99% of them are too lazy to do that. First off, plan your day ahead of time. Know what area you'll be in the next day. The night before, make calls to the dealers....
