Difficult Vehicle

Post by Semper Fi » December 5th, 2018, 4:56 pm

I have a customer that has a lifted F350 that has a chip dead center and about three inches from the top. How would you address this challenge? Ladder? Scaffold? I don’t want to have to sit on his hood.

I hate it when that happens. But if I cannot reasonably reach it for a repair, I would have to refrain from the job. Its all to easy to create more damage either to the vehicle or my back.

I just get lowered in by helicopter, I though all you guys over there had one. That said, I will try and reach it but I am sure not going to take the chance on causing damage, most of my fleet customers will have some form of scaffolding.

Do you all use a ladder or step stool and if so do you wrap it so it won’t scratch the customers vehicle?

Screenman, I don’t know how much you pay for your helicopter but here in the US there around $350 an hour.

Have you tried opening the door nearest the break and standing on the floor board? If you can reach the break cover the door frame with towel or blanket.
