How much does Safelite get for every Job billed

Post by gtwr2 »

Does anyone know how much safelite gets for every job that is billed through there network.. ( Administrative cost ) it seems to me that if Safelite Solutions is getting a fee for every windshield repair and replacement that goes through there network from the insurance company. Lynx gets like $25.00 for every dispatch ( which is fine because they are not our competitor ) Lets just say hypothetically $20.00 for each referral, thousands of jobs per day nationwide. which ends up to be millions in revenue per year and then they take that profit and run is millions of dollars in advertisement against all the independent glass shop in america. Could this be LEGAL. it would be like ford billing through chevy, Then chevy making a profit then turning around and advertise chevy products.
Is this constitutional.

Why would anyone care? do you make enough to feed your family and pay the bills from the portion you get?If not go to work the Socialist mentality that thinks other companies are somehow not entitled to earn a living is kind of funny. But those same people can be seen shopping at Wallmart LOL

I understand where the OP is coming from...it's unethical business practices at the least and could be considered racketeering almost. I'm surprised they arent violating some fair trade laws but I'm no lawyer.

The repair only guys have got it no where near as hard as the replacement guys have with this system. Find the uninsured market it is far better to deal with, although it does take more effort.

Here in South Carolina a law was just passed that is supposed to eliminate or reduce the Safelite TPA preference to Safelite Glass.

Sounds good in theory but who is honestly going to enforce it? IMO the trade associations should be pushing for legislation and licensing. Require the distributors and vendors to require customers to be licensed if not they are penalized. This is mainly for the replacement side of the business but would benefit the repair side too. This causes costs go up which in turn causes sales to increase, which nets higher profits. The associations tho, are in bed with the TPAs and are too busy playing golf and crappy trade shows instead of doing what they are supposed to. Mrs. Levy and myself have had many disagreements on how things should be handled and since the AGRSS has repeatedly done nothing to help advance the industry...I am leaving the industry for one where the associations help to grow and better the industry. If everything was ran like Delta Kits this would be a great business to be in (replacement) but that isn't the case and if I never replace another windshield I will be happy.

Insightautoglass, that is an interesting response can I ask where that information came from. Over here the price varies from one insurer to the next and is decided on may factors volume being one. Either way your competitor is controlling the price you charge for a job, which is not good for business.
