The first one although a rubbish repair looks no worse finished than most of the done by so proffesionals over here. The second person is not telling the truth when she says a divot is a dangerous as a large break, both so wrong.

Re: How to fix a chipped windshield
Good morning forum members & visitors. I watched both videos. Screenman, If Iam observing the lady coorectly , she is repairing nicks. Insurance companies dont generally pay for this in my area. Its not considered a break. I cant believe she gets away with this. This may be why insurance companioes are sending inspectors to cetain locations prior to a break being repaired. The first video, the finished break still looked like it wasnt flush with the glass surface, and a pit resin was not used. He also pressed down on the mylar tab, which is the reasom in my opinon the break didnt fill. The break still looked large enough that water could collect within it. This could be a problem if in a cold climate with freezing temps. The girl reminds me of some of the things I see, and hear at gas stations & car washes in the bigger cities.

First video should have been entitled - How NOT to repair a windshield
Second video is just filling stone chips. It is purely for cosmetic purposes only. It is only temporary at best ( especially in the wiper sweep) and she didn't even clean out the damage before applying pit filler.

Re: How to fix a chipped windshield
We all know there are Do it yourself kits out there and we know they dont do a very good job. So some dummy filled a repair poorly with one of these kits and put it on youtube who cares? As far as the woman filling divots some folks have no morals when it comes to money again no surprise. Now if she had said im doing this hoping to help the customer with its visibility maybe not such a stretch.
