Determining correct windshield #

Post by GTRWGLASS » July 10th, 2018, 1:17 pm

Hi all,
What is the best way to determine the correct windshield / NAGS # for a particular vehicle? We have the Mitchell Glass Mate software, but even when using the VIN it will bring up many different options. Sure we can call the customer and ask them which features they have (rain sensor, lane departure, collision alert etc.) but many times the customer does not know. Additionally the less we have to bother the customer the better.

Is there a fool proof way to figure out EXACTLY which features are on the vehicle so we can determine EXACTLY which glass we need?

Thanks!
Robert

Hey Robert, if you get a phone call asking for the price of a windshield always get the VIN. The customer has no clue what features their windshield has. You have to see the glass yourself to determine if it has the lane departure or rain sensor. And then of course there are many other options on the newer models. Heater, HUD, Acoustic Interlayer, and so on. To find out exactly what glass you need, call the dealership and ask for the part number. You'll see the OEM parts number listed under the correct NAGS part number.
