While waiting for a new windscreen..

Hi, I think this is the place to ask for advice here!
I've got a 12" crack across my windscreen, and have an appointment to get a replacement, but it's 3 days away. I need to drive to/from work (120miles a day) so I wondered if there was something I could do as a temporary measure to make sure the crack didn't get worse while I'm waiting for the technician to come with new glass.
My initial thought was perhaps some superglue in the dent where the chip is that started the crack, but that seems to be rather frowned upon as a repair - I wondered if it might work as an interim measure though since it'll need a new windscreen anyway. Can anyone advise please?
Thanks in advance!
