Post by MatriX »

:eusa_pray Hi!

I am from Sarajevo,Bosnia.Last yer and half i have spend in fixing windshields in my city, and i can say that i am the only to do this on this way. Money was good, but i feel this needs biger level,i just didnt have time for something more.
Cuople repairs permonth doesnt make me hapy. And this is the only job i have.

Now, i want to make a busines plan and marketing.I want to get in it serious,so far all this was just pocket money and practice. So far i would go on the streat and just stick flyers on the cars and that was all! I mena that went well, imagine what could happen after good marketing plan.

If you have ideas for flyers, experince in long cracks i would be very thankfull. I have read a lot of staf here, and i see you people have some great idaes and i like most of them. If you could give me few hints and something to start with i would deeply appreciated that.Thank you

Hi Matrix, welcome to the forum.
If you have a vehicle, you can advertise your wsr business by simply buying nice-looking self-sticking letters. This works well on a small budget, and it works good for me. I definately get some calls here and there, but not every day. And when you are driving around town, people will see your truck and drive-up or walk up to you and ask questions about windshield repair. When that happens, the customer is already interested, so those are pretty easy to sell.
These are just a small handfull of customers that you can get by advertising on your vehicle.

I think most techs will agree when I say that the majority of your business will come from personal contact - face to face. You just gotta get out there and don't be shy and start talking to people about your business.

Be sure to do a fantastic job on every repair, and always try to find something that you can do for your customer that he/she would never expect in the way of service. Perhaps washing all the windows on the car, and maybe even washing the head-lights. Just something that the customer would appreciate, but would never expect. This will create excellent word-of-mouth business.

My wsr business is part-time, and most of my business comes from word-of-mouth, and the advertising on my truck, and the sign I have at my home which is on a busy street.

I have tried advertising in the local nickel paper and I get a few calls - and although It did not produce as well as I hoped, I will probably try it again.

Mailing flyers is not nearly as effective as face to face contact. Infact, I would have to say that for me, mailing flyers was an experiment that I just had to try and had less than favorable results.

I give out a lot of business cards when I am out doing personal errands on the week-ends.

I have never tried the tent-setup, but may give it a go some-time, but I would be limited to week-ends as this is my part-time business.

I hope some of this helps.
