it all looks the same???

Post by tryingtomakeit »

Alright guys I need some help navigating through the maze of wsr equipment out here. They all claim superiority but upon inspection they all pretty much appear to perform the same basic function, screwing up and down a threaded shaft to suck out the air, then push resin into the break. some say patented while others just claim to be the best.So the question is whats the real differance and why do most injectors seem to look identical but the prices range from $100- to $1000- Thanks for the help so I can truly make a educated decision.

You get what you pay for MOST of the time when it come's to equipment. Systems are slightly different and each has it's strong points. Some claim high vac and pressure features but you only need so much of either and others claim to be the only patented system of it's kind etc.... Who cares, it comes down to effect, you eliminate the air in the void and replaceit with resin. Here's the magic trick. You get all the air out and replace it with resin.[/U] That is it, real magical huh. Now before I get into trouble I better explain that there is a huge number of folks who for what ever reason are out there doing repair work that are not accomplishing the magic I described, so if you plan to get into the business please plan to follow thru on training and practice and we will help you in any way possable so best of luck...Scott
My best mentor one said " be fair with your priceing but never too low, be honest with your customer/competition, when the day is done be sure you have done "good works", and always leave something of value on the barganing table!!

While my friend and trainer/ mentor Ray has moved on, his words live.

There is alot of quality wsr tools out there and some garbage too. It usually comes down to which one you feel comfortable with, but since you just cant run down to windshield repair depot and try them all makes for a hard decision. I have used Delta, Glass Mechanix and Glass Technology equipment, and would rank them in the same order. This is my personal preference and many others will like something else. Also if I was able to try every one out there I may find a new favorite, but I can say that any of the above will give you great repairs if you take the time to learn how to use them properly. And by the way, WELCOME ABOARD....>.>.

Awww--You forgot to mention Novus...one of the earlier ones to enter the business. I think Screenman uses this system too I have been using Novus for over 8 years with very much success. I recently bought a Delta injector and so far cannot say that it exceeds my earlier model. Both are great though.

Screenman uses Esprit. A Novus type bridge and injector, but much improved over the Novus design. I use Esprit's injectors. Layne you should give them a try, I think you'l be pleased with the results.

Thanks Mafsu. I'll take that under advisement. Still experimenting with the Dellta injector.
