LYNX warranty procedure

Post by Dave M »

Received a fax from LYNX today. NOTICE OF JOB DEBIT. I was shocked to say the least. At the top it read "please do not submit a refund for this dispatch as payment will be deducted from your next check". At the bottom it read "This fax is to inform you about a debit for this job in accordance with the Warranty section of the Agreement".
I'm thinking, what warranty debit are they talking about. Customer never called me, never heard from LYNX until this fax.
Called customer, he had called LYNX to tell them that the repair had cracked but never called me.
I told customer that I needed to look at the w/s to confirm the failed repair before processing warranty. Crack was from another hit 6 inches above my original repair.
Called LYNX again and asked them if a representative of LYNX or the ins. co. had seen the w/s to verify what the customer had told them. We all know the answer to that!
When I asked LYNX how they could deduct payment without verifying the failed repair or not calling the shop (me) first.......are you ready for this, they don't call the shop if it's a repair, only a replacement.
Whether or not, if the customer was trying to get away with something is beside the point. LYNX warranty policy procedure stinks and they now know that from my ranting to them! BEWARE!
LYNX did void the debit notice.
