GPS Systems
GPS Systems
Any of you using these?
Was looking last year but they were still over $600 for a decent model. Now I see them advertised for under $200.
Any suggestions as to what make and model works the best for mobile repair?

Re: GPS Systems
If I am doing a job the next day of so and I am not sure were I am going I will use YAHOO maps and map it out on the back of my dispatch... The customers think that is all right.
Just a thought.

Don,
Currently, I do the same as you (MapQuest) and it has worked fine so far but I believe having a GPS would be more efficient. Just don't like to buy something new without researching first. That's why I posted this thread.
Thanks for your input!

Re: GPS Systems
If you have a PDA you can have an all in one setup that will sync to your computer for all your files and be a GPS as well. You will need to purchacse the antenna and software. I believe I bought my antenna from simens.com and the software I use is I-NAV. This thing is worth its weight in gold(time saving) especially for those network referrals in the middle of nowhere.

Someone loaned me a Tom Tom earlier this year in Europe, I was amazed how accurate it was, I took a wrong turn (My Mistake) it recalculated and got me back on track, I was very impressed.

I would hate to be without my Navman system works superb. Saves time and matrimonial rows when out with the wife and she is trying to navigate.
33,000 + screen repairs over 18 years and still learning.

Re: GPS Systems
After two months of study I've decided on the GARMIN GPSMAP 276C. It seems to have everthing I want in a GPS system. There are less expensive systems that do just as much. Go to Garmn.factoryoutletstore.com they have some good deals going on right now.

Re: GPS Systems
Sorry I gave the wrong web site. I just checked my files...it is semsons.com. I bought the globalsat bc-337 antenna. I am sure there is probably something better by now.

Re: GPS Systems
Still searching for best deal, so many different models to chose from!
Is "text to speach" an option I really need or should pay extra for?
Thanks for your input.
