Weird film in the chip

What causes a white film in the damage? Everything else fills in great, but the goofy looking area remains the same. Does it weaken the repair?

I've had that happen before for 2 different reasons I can think of:
Using too much heat which is the most common and not as common it was because the injector had contamination.

Are you sure you are not seeing delamintaion? this is caused by the PVB turning back to its natural state due to moisture intake. Sometimes we do not always look hard enough at the damage prior to filling to notice this but if it is delamination which I am sure it will be then it was there before you started the repair and filling the chip makes it more noticeable. The older the damage to more likely this is to occur, you can also get this affect when pressure washing a damaged area. Failing that you have injected without drying out properly, moisture and resin do not mix.
