Hello all,
Brent and myself thought this would be of good reading to all!
Phone Conversation was June 17th, 2009.
Between Myself and a Mr.Joseph Shell a "representative" at State Farm Insurance,
I have recently signed with a EDI provider and was notified by them via email that Lynx Matrix has notified them that my application for State Farm had been denied. Now I applied for this back in March 8th, 2009. My EDI provider asked if I would call State Farm and find out why they declined my application with the Matrix/Lynx site?
So I Did!
Mr. Joseph answered and I proceeded to introduce myself when I was interupted by Mr. Joseph asking my what my reasoning for calling was. Ok I said (knowing what type of animal I am now speaking with, I proceeded with KINDNESS!)
Mr. Joseph we submitted application back in March 2009 through Lynx/Matrix and was just recently notified by our EDI provider you guys denied us approval. We would. Again interupted to say WHO ARE YOU AGAIN?
Ok by this time my blood is beginning to bubble!
I said, Sir Chad Clewis with Time2Shine auto spa & reconditioning like nice and slow so this time he would get it. Sir Have you had any training?
Ok I then said Are you going to ask me what I do? Have you had any training. I said what type training are you in referring too? He said Glass Installation training sir.
I then said I donot do Installs I do REPAIRS! OK any repair training I said NO! Are you certified, I said NO!
Ok we will not approve you if you are not certified or have any training!
What system do you use? Delta... Hmmm He said nothing afterwards.
Then he said, you can still file claims through Lynx/Matrix however if a client calls us or you call us with a claim we will have no choice but to let the customer know that you are not a preferred shop of ours and we will not stand behind any warranties on your shops behalf.
OK then I asked him. So you mean to tell me that since you will not approve me as a preferred shop, your basically going to spook my potential customer?
What if I do the repair 1st? Then call you? He said nothing but "They will have to pay you cash".
He then said that by not being a preferred shop the customer will have to pay thier deductible plus cost of repair and all of collected funds will need to be sent in 10 days from filing the claim. I asked could we not keep our repair part. He said NO!
I asked "you guys dont offer your clients FREE Repairs"?
He said "if they have a $0.00 deductible Yes! If not NO!"
yet at first he didnt have a clue what I meant by FREE Repair and this is what he said when I asked If they offered such ,
"You tell them what you want to that will be your liability. I dont think anyone works for FREE!"
Ok so I asked FREE Repairs I work with lots of others "Insurance Companies" that offer such He said "well your not talking to "Others"
How rude of an ASS! huh? what do you guys think?
Oh last thing he said get certified, get trained and re apply in september 2009? we might consider your shop then!

Re: My Conversation With State Farm Insurance!
Time 2 Shine . Dont you love dealing with people who havent had to go out and earn a living . You said Mr Shell was a rep. meaning there are lots more to call. Its amazing . After being self employed most of my life [New to WSR] Ive learned not to take no for an anwer. At least not the first time.LOL. Be professional kind and persistent you will find a rep. willing to do the right thing for the customer . I plan on getting certified as soon as Delta is in Florida or close .Favor and Wisdom are yours for the asking.

Re: My Conversation With State Farm Insurance!
Since State Farm doesnt cover WR without a 0 ded and hasnt for a couple years why would you be spending time getting on the list of people they dont use?
I understand you are new and trying to get as much work as possible and like many new people fell into the "Wow the insurance companies are going to send me a ton of work" fantasy pit sorry to be the guy who breaks the bubble but dont expect any referrals and be happy when you get one
Go out and find the work and be in the process of doing the repair when you call into them for a aprov its hard to get the customer to tell you to stop doing a repair in progress.
You should spend some time in the board archives lots of valuable info there

I knew State Farm didnt cover WSR without a $0.00 deductible!
I never said in my topic I was depending on the "Insurance Companies" to send me work!
Infact I have spent the last year browsing the forum for info.
I once again called into State Farm Because I signed up with Lynx/Matrix back in March 2009 and was notified by my EDI provider that State Farm denied my application. We both was only curious as to why.
But we figured that one out!
Thanks For Your Concerns!
