The one thing we all have is SELF MOTAVATION! To me it sounds like you are not motavated on your own.. If you are not willing to do the research on your own you will NOT make it...
We could feed you all the information all day long but then we would not have time to do our own work...

What is the old saying? " feed a man a fish, he eats for a day. teach a man to fish, he eats for a life" or something on that line.

You have all the info here on the site already. Take the time to READ it.

We all started before these forums were here, (at least I know I did) and we all had the drive to keep going.. If you give up this easy because we can not supply you with the info you are asking for, I have a hunch you may not make it.

If you are afraid to take the first step or you think that you will just sit by the phone and wait for the phone to ring with the networks you better stay in the job you have. That is a steady paycheck for you.

I would get more blunt on this but Delta will edit my post again....

We do not mind helping out but we can not do all your leg work. That is the foundation of you start...

I can see your frist two businesses all you had to do is invest in the product and they will come. In this business you have to find them and sell your self. This business is differant then the rest...

When someone says "can this be repaired" don't say "I think it can" say "sure, no problem" I does sound better and they won't no you are a newbe

Good luck and keep reading to learn.

Again I use my cell as my only phone . Since I use act I have no need to ever fax anything or even use my computor much I literaly go to work fix the ones I find and go home and dont think about it again till the next day when I go to work. Every couple weeks I look at the check stubs and compare to the work orders I wrote and if I havnt been paid for one call and ask its progress all in all a no brainer. Sure I pay more using act but the lack of brain damage more than pays for itself ( I HATE PAPERWORK)

Maxima.

I will give you an "A" plus for persistence.

In spite of the negative replies to some of your posts (many of them justified), you plodded forward with dogged determination.

Success is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.

I think you'll make it in this particular business. Especially if you spend as much time practicing repairs as you have researching billing procedures.

Good luck.

In response to Maxima's original question- My personal opinion is don't let all the abbreviations scare you, I have done insurance work and called the insured's company, got a referal or approval #, their fax number and faxed my invoice directly to them. I recieved my check for the work done and didn't mess with the middle men so to speak. Just do a good job for the insured or cash paying customer and call the insurance company prior to starting the repair to get it in the workings. I haven't yet delt with a company who charges for their software to bill. I have posted on here how I have done it and asked if it was right or not but no response so- I would say do like I did and deal directly with the insurance companies yourself.... Good luck and don't know if this helps... Me
P.S.- I use my home number more than my cell-but got a new cell that works better so may change it to that...

Amen, mepoozer.

If one wants to use the networks, there are a bunch of ways to do so posted all over this forum.

If one wants to circumvent the networks, there are a bunch of ways to do so posted all over this forum.

I feel that one primary network in particular poses a definite threat to our existence and my views in that concern are also posted at various places within this forum. We do NOT use them under any circumstances.

The other major network is ostensibly benign at first glance and we will utilize them with caution until we see a trend otherwise.

You can only bill direct if you are not part of the network. If I bill direct to Farmers or any other Ins. company they WILL run it through the network if you are signed up with the networks.. I have tryed to go around them to manny times to count, but the check will come from the networks every time.
Even if I send a letter that has been posted on some of the forums in the past. I have tryed most of the letters with no luck.

I may drop the networks in 6 months after checking were I bet my work from.. I set my QB's to monitor how I get my work. Yellow page, repeat, referrals, ect.
I am going to keep a closer eye on everything this year.
