Just a bit of advice from an old timer, who has made an extremely good living repairing windshields. If one person takes it and hundred ignore it, it was worth writing.

Screenman,

As I have noticed since posting my reply to this topic you have created a reply that I'm not sure the intentions of. You must have not had your coffee that day!

I would like to say that while you were here replying to your post the second time I was making a living for my family.
As I have stated here before I do not and will not discuss my pricing here on the forum.

To answer this statement/question: To be quite honest with you more than likely I wasn't ignoring your post , I was making a living for my family. My time spent here has to be far and between as I have a business to run & a family to support!
screenman wrote:We can do say 3 repairs an hour + if working a fleet or forecourt, so concentrate on the part of your business that get you the best bucks per hour.
Yes we can do three or even more repairs per hour, However what makes you think we don't do the same in our "Detailing"
No, I have to disagree with you as "Detailing" is very, very profitable.
I focus on all 4 of my services offered.

I feel no matter the type of service you offer, You could shovel horse crap for a living I feel with the right ATTITUDE it can be a success! I have a customer of ours who actually goes to peoples homes and cleans their BBQ Grills & might I ad has 5 fleet trucks with 5 employees. May sound small to you. But he CLEANS BBQ Grills!!!

Have a good day Screenman.... And grab a cup "o Joe!

Not sure about the time I posted bit, but let me have another go.

Over here I know of 2 guys that do detailing/valeting they both charge £45 for a full clean which takes 3 to 4 hours, I charge the same for a 30 minute repair. So in my mind my advise was and is valid. $ for$ or £ For £ which would give the best return for 60 mniutes work? Over here it is WSR , of course in the USA things may be different.

I have a feeling you may have snapped at my replies to you before, you are obviously extremely competent in the WSR business so I apologise if my answers offend you in any way, they are not meant to.

My Company does the following:

~ Full In / Out Detailing (MOBILE)
~ Windshield Chip & Crack Repairs
~ Auto Glass Replacements
~ Headlight Restoration
~ VIN Etching (This service is a hit or miss most of the time, I wish I didn't buy the kit, a big waste!)
~ Minor Interior Repairs
~ Cigarette Burn Repairs - Carpet
~ Minor Scratch Repairs - Paint

I plan to add PDR in the next year, we were gonna add it several months back, but we got hit with hail here, and the Austin Area got Flooded with PDR people, and I didn't want to compete for local work. So, we're working on adding it soon.
