Lighting!

Post by GLASSTIME »

Now that it gets darker in my area around 5ish or 6 and I have found myself working in the dark with a small flashlight squeezed under my chin aimed at the break. I was wondering if and of anyone here utilizing a light source. I noticed that Delta offers a light that actually clips onto the bridge base and was very interested in it as that looks cool! But at the same time it serves its purpose.

I was thinking some flood lights but then again that would just be too much light and bulkness I really dont have room for.
I seen a Glass Installer wearing these cool Safety Glasses that had LED lights on them.

Looking for something that is compact and doesnt take up alot of space like the Glasses or Delta Bridge Light!

I use a headband light, like used on camping trips. Picked it up at Costco last year. It is super bright and the brightness is adjustable. Plus with this on you can work multiple repairs and not have to worry about taking the light with you everytime.

I would never do a repair if I thought I would have to use a flashlight.

I ask customers to pull out of their garages and underground parking, even if it is raining out ( I use an umbrella).

What looks like a good repair under artificial light, and the smaller that source of light is,
the more likely it is that your repair will not be up to the standard we should be achieving.

Easy, simple, effective and cheap lighting that takes up almost no space? There is a pair of safety glasses that have small bright lights (led, I think) on the outside of each lens. No matter where you look, the lights are always shining in that direction.
Don't know where to buy them, but if you do a web search on "Kevin Kelly cool tools" they are described there (along with hundreds of other tools) and they usually have a link at the end of each review that will bring you to where they are sold.
Hope this helps,
