HOW TO SHOW UP ON PAGE ONE IN GOOGLE FOR WINDSHIELD REPAIR when someone is searching the LOCAL searches

Let's talk about just 2 ways to SHOW UP ON PAGE ONE OF GOOGLE FOR WINDSHIELD REPAIR (ORGANICALLY) I know you can buy Google adWords and get on page one immediately, this is NOT about that, it is about how to get on Page ONE organically without having to buy ads!

Here's a brief outline to get business from the web (This brief post focuses on GOOGLE Searches only)

GOAL - Get your website on PageOne of Google when someone types in "windshield repair your city" (SO YOU'LL GET THE LOCAL BUSINESS WHEN SOMEONE IS LOOKING - Go to Google keyword search to find out exactly what people are typing in for repair techs in your city........http://www.adwords.google.com/select/Ke ... ternal.com

Here's the given:

Scale= 1=Easiest and 10 most difficult (most of this is REAL EASY if you have any computer SAVVY at all, if not, hire a kid (they know a lot!)

1. You gotta have a website (you can make a one page site with free templates available by searching for "free website templates" Scale of difficulty=4 (10 being hardest)

2. You should have a little understanding of Google Maps (Google has a site explaining it) Scale of difficulty=2

3. You should know how to upload a simple homemade video to YouTube (Google also has a site explaining it) Scale of difficulty=2

Here you go:

(SUPER IMPORTANT TIP) If you don't have a website, get one with an address that has "windshield repair" and your city name in it, for example, "www.windshieldrepairdallas". - the engines like it when the URL words match the search terms.

HOW TO GET ON GOOGLE MAPS
1. get a Google account and Gmail address (go to Google for these)
2. go to Google Maps and fill in the blanks for registering your business info
3. have a few photos for Google Maps
4. under Keywords, put in the following keywords for descriptions (these act as tags that the search engine sees) "windshield repair your city - "rock chip repair your city" - "rock chip" - "windshield repair" - "cracked windshield your city" (THIS STEP HIGHLY IMPORTANT)

HOW TO GET ON GOOGLE ORGANIC LOCAL SITES
5. Make a homemade video, with you on camera talking about the benefits of having the repair done by you (simple little Flip camera will work. I like the Kodak Zi8 camera (it shoots HD and is about a 120 bucks) because it has an input for a mic (I bought a little 25 dollar lapel microphone from Radio Shack). Usually the sound sucks on these little video cameras, so this helps a lot! DOESN'T HAVE TO BE FANCY!
6. Make the video NO LONGER THAN 3 min tops, 1 and a half minutes is best.
BAD SOUND AND BAD LIGHT ARE THE BIG THINGS TO AVOID, so make sure you film in plenty of light and speak clearly and loudly (get a little mic if possible)
7. Upload it to YouTube
8. In Description space on YouTube put your complete URL address FIRST, then the description of the video (this point really important if you want to see it on page ONE) also put keywords in your description of the video, like "windshield repair dallas"
9. Remember Google is trying to deliver the most RELEVANT sites to whatever people are looking for.
10. Once you have it downloaded to YouTube, then submit it to at least 5 other video sites every week (Google "video web sites" for a list - start with Viddler.com, and livevideo.com and vidilife.com.
11. don't do it all at once, Google may not like that.

The secrets here are:
Using the RIGHT KEYWORDS FOR YOUR CITY and
Putting the RIGHT KEYWORDS and URL address in the DESCRIPTION BOX when submitting videos and
Submitting every week............

Use these simple techniques, but don't be surprise when you end up on page ONE when someone types in "windshield repair dallas" or wherever you are!

Adwords is not worth the time.... They charge you for every click..... I had a bill for 3 months for over 100 each and no work from it.....

To get on top have Yahoo and good feedback, the more feedback the better exposure 5 RED stars behind your name the more attractive you look.

I agree - I agree - I agree!!!! with you about AdWords...............if you don't know how to use it effectively, it is easy to get burned and just throw your money away.

That's why the POST is all about GETTING TO THE TOP OF GOOGLE ORGANICALLY!

Good information. Especially for a newbie like me. I have begun to develop a website, but right now I am not sure if it pays off. Time for another topic.

Hey gk,

DO A LITTLE homemade video, talking about your service, the area you cover and the benefits to insurance paying the bill and all that. Make it about 1-3 minutes tops........then follow the tips in originally post to get it listed on YOUTUBE etc

Not kidding, it will start showing up in local searches quickly! (I have seen some show up in as little as the first day....not kidding)

Remember to use the KEYWORDS in your area (as explained in orig post, etc)

You could seriously do this in an hour! Not that hard! And you will get traffic, if you follow it.............and more traffic and exposure means more possibilities for jobs!
