To be honest I saw the same "bubbles" along a poorly previously attempted partially repaired crack Monday and didn't know why.

De-lamination - in the trade

If the job doesn't mean more than the pay, it will never pay more.

Can sometimes occur before a repair is carried out, more often on older damage on damage that somebody has used a power washer on. More often than not it is as the OP says poor quality or poorly trained repair guys, I hesitate to call them technicians.

I never try to bash a competitors repair...even if it doesn't look right. I simply state I can provide something better. That's it. No need to say anything other!

Just try your best to do your best, if you start to see this type repair happening to you, just back off of the pressure. There are a lot of people out there doing this for a living, some good and some bad, just live by the fact that you will do your best.
Today I drove 35 mins away to do a repair, and it was a previous repair, it was done very nicely, I simply told the customer that there wasn't anything I could do further with it, and I told her to keep my info for the future....I didn't charge her a dime for my time and I complimented the company that did the previous work.

I also do not criticize a competitors work. I tell my customer "the primary purpose of the repair is to prevent the chip from cracking/spreading across the windshield. I do not know what the damage looked like before the repair...but if the chip did not spread....I consider the repair a Success, despite what it LOOKS LIKE". If I can "improve" the cosmetic appearance by applying additional Pit Resin ...I will do this Free of Charge.

Not good having customers angry with youWhen I pointed this out to the customer, she was angry at me and thought I was trying to sell her something. No lady I am just trying to educate you about what a crappy job you got if you'd sit down and listen for a minute.

You have to chose who you "educate" carefully, plus a lot of people don't want to be educated.
I charged $40 for a pit fill yesterday..I will do this Free of Charge
