I have found that the size of the bullseye is determined by how far you drill into the glass first. Shallow drill large bullseye, deep drill smaller bullseye, regardless of what point I use and there have been may over the years. Now I use the slide hammer as it does the job nicely, I have been on the same tip since they were introduced without the need to sharpen it.

Good morning Brent ! I 've been drilling with the FG2 The entire time I've had my kit. I used the little depth indicator, an everything seemed fine when I had to use the Spring or Slide hammer. I will switch over to the FG701 today. I seldom have to use either of the hammers but I do drill into the WS when I have a break that doesnt have a opening at the surface. I've had 2 this week that had a small 1/4 or 1/2 inch crack that didnt have a opening. I used the FG2 both times to drill into the WS, Filled and applied pit resin. Still learning after almost 4 years.

Candyman, you will find the FG701 works much better when using the slide hammer or spring hammer. It's been discussed on the forum previously but I apologize if we failed to make that clear when you purchased the tool. If not popping a bullseye my preference is the FG2 as well.
