MadMike, one thing you may want to try when selling fleet accounts is giving them a free demo. This does two things, it lets you get a look around at their glass and shows the potential client what you can do for them. There are alot of people out there that do not know the quality of work we can do, you have to show them sometimes to sell it.
Thanks again fellas. I went back to the Dollar Rental Car place and spoke with the manager. He in turn, gave me the number for the entire Colorado Springs Fleet. So, I called right away. When I explained that I saw 3 breaks in the parking lot, and another one that was done poorly (you could see the drill hole, and it wasn't fininshed off with pit sealer) he agreed to see me as soon as possible, next tuesday morning at the main place. Colorado Springs Airport. So I guess if he quickly agreed to get together, he must either need another WSR guy or is ready for a change.
I'll definetly offer to do a free demonstration. Plus once that meetings over, I suppose...since I'm there....hit up the other Rental Car agencys.
Today I also had to pull up my bootstraps and force myself out of the car walk the parking lot all official like to look for chips and then find the owner. (I definetly don't consider myself a salesman. I'm usually more quiet and reserved. However, I know I have to do the uncomfortable in order to make this work.)
1st one looked promising. Nice little Jetta. I figured the owner would want that taken care of right away. I looked over the door of the bldg to check for a "No Soliciting" sign. (they are every where in this area) Didn't see one so I went inside, didn't see anyone...kept looking down this hall. Finally found I nice pleasant gal, gave her my speech. She claimed she didn't know who it belonged too. Then very politely said there was a no soliciting sign. Oops! Sure nuff, it was there, I looked high, and it was down low. Oh, well. 10 minutes later got my 1st job for the day, as I was working, his coworkers piled out the door to see what I was up too! Almost sold 2 more, they however planned to replace the whole windshield. Riggghhhhttt!!! Oh well. Then I got rained out, so one for the day.
After the clouds lifted this evening...Snow on Pikes Peak down to the 11,000 foot level.
