I should have clarified... I don't always have easy access to keys, and I do probably half my work without starting the car even on cold days. I often only use the torch to preheat the repair area and work fast.

Okay...I stopped laughing and shaking my head more power to the guys who are able to repair in the cold weather! Me....I bring the vehicles inside where it's warm!

By the time you get the car inside and the fog cleared off and the glass warm (it's still cold inside too), I'm waiting for the cure light to do it's thing. he he

Some dealers have a place to pull cars inside, but I don't unless I'm really sick of the cold. Actually it's not bad to pull them in if you have several running with the defrost on... so they are warm and ready to go. "NEXT!..."

I work in warm weather and am no expert on cold repairs, I would be concerned about what I'm breathing if I had a few cars running inside a garage. Got to make a living and I would do the same, but you have to think about it. I gave up the paint touchup business after reading the msds sheets on the chemicals I was using, just not worth the risk.

Oh... I didn't mean have several running inside.... keep them runnin goutside, and pull in one at a time and turn it off once it's inside of course.

I think I would pass out by the time the first repair was done if I had several cars running inside.... ha ha ha

A pencil tip solder iron comes to mind! hee hee that will teach the chip a thing or two!!!

10 below zero?!! That is skillz right there. I've done repairs in mid 30s before and I would prefer that well over repairing in a weather with degrees in the 90s with humidity at 100%. This is under a shade too. I looked like I just ran a 10 mile marathon after the repair.
