If you don't just go out and start making sales calls you will never get any business. You are making excuses.

Not making excuses just wondering if there are anyways to get sales with out having to do the door to door thing. I have heard several others say they don't do dealerships and fleets. So there has to be effective ways to advertise to get customers to call you. I get several calls a week from the yellow pages but most glass is cracked already. I am meeting with triumph next week to discuss referrals fees. I know I will also have to beat the doors of dealerships but was trying to avoid that. I WILL DO IT THOUGH ;) Thanks for the gentle nug guys.

Jeff,

The word "NO" is not a bad thing unless you let it be;) When I first started, it wasn't uncommon for me to spend an entire day driving around making zero money giving out free demos and having people say "No". Coming out of a retail sales business I really had a problem with that. In retail sales I had a average 87% closing ratio. To go out and be told "no" daily was devastating to me! Get over it! It's not personal with them, they just have got into the habbit of telling every new sales person "no". You just have to be a pain in their side and show up every other week until they say "yes". Your continued persistance will eventually win them over;)

good luck

As I have stated in other threads the ability to do a quality repair is not a key to success its the ability to sell that repair that makes or breaks the buisness.
This is not a repair buisness! its a sales buisness with the product being WR
Cold call,Fleet or referals they all require the ability to sell if you cant sell you will fail!
Obviosly cold call is the easiest and least expensive way to make money your overhead is a buisness card a car to get you there and your tools. As my old little league coach used to say Be A "Man Step Up To The Plate And Swing!" 5 repairs a day = $250 minimum 3= $150 its so easy it cant be legal ;u)
If you cant sell buy a book ,watch some tapes or hire someone to ride with you and sell give em 50% and get 6-10 a day whatever it takes
Fly out to San Jose give the coit man a couple hundred bucks and ride with him
