It was my understanding that this was a trial move for them with 5 states being tried. Louisiana is 1 of them. After Jan 1 2006 when the insured has to renew their policy is when it goes into effect UNLESS they have $0 deduct.

Not sure what to say. I didn't see it, we've not heard it, it's not on Auto Glass Magazine's website. If you can find a link to the info, i'd certainly like to see it.
Here's their news section:

Again, as I said previously when this was thread was about
TEXAS, there are a lot of rumors from technicians about this or that, but no proof.

After rereading this thread, let's shift it back to Texas, and possible deductible problems in Texas, as the original poster requested.
If anyone does have actual documentation on State Farm, please start another thread.
Thanks

Update to my earlier post 3 weeks ago...
I found out today that Mercury Ins does not waive their deductable for WSR in TX. Their policy changed 11/2005. Don't know about other states. Even though my invoice says that the customer is liable in case the insurance co. does not pay, I'm waiving my fee as a goodwill jester.

Again, documentation would be great. If Mercury is not waiving, they will be willing to provide you documentation regarding that.

You can check the NWRA web site under "current news", they have an article about it.

Gregg,
There is nothing on the NWRA's website regarding Mercury, at least under "current news." Please supply a link.
In any case, since no one was willing to provide documentation, I called Mercury, and they confirmed that they no longer waive the deductible in Texas.
So, State Farm currently DOES waive the deductible, Mercury does not.

Mercury and AAA absolutely, positively do not waive deductible in Texas any longer. This has been the case since last year sometime.
They did not send a "notice", as Jeff suggested, because they (hello) do not use a TPA. Therefore, how would they know who to send "notices" to?
