Maxryde,
In NC and VA property and casualty policies such as homeowners and auto are based on a per occurrence basis. Prior to getting into windshield repair I was an associate agent for Nationwide for eight years, and I still attend continuing education classes to renew my P&C license each year. Also, my brother-in-law is a State Farm agent here in Virginia and is also licensed in North Carolina since he lives right on the border. Just to be sure I called him and asked him about the deductible going towards a future glass claim, and he stated what I had said earlier. I would check with your state to be sure, but I would not want to tell a customer that the repair they are paying for would go towards the deductible on any future claims.

Also, I sent the copy of the same email to Jeff last month stating Maryland Started this month as well. I think I also posted it in another thread.

Looks like they are the fast track right now to go countrywide with this policy.

It doesn't affect Ohio at all.

Yes we have been setup with LYNX for awhile and have done many State Farms jobs............this was the first to NOT waive.

We're in Ohio and received a job through Lynx a couple weeks ago for a State Farm policyholder. We were told that they were no longer waiving the deductible for repair and we had to collect the amount of repair from the customer. (this particular customer had a $100 ded.)

Have you received your fax from Lynx/State Farm stating that they are no longer waiving deductibles? If so, i'd love to see it.

Yet.

SF 6127 is coming to your state, folks. Bet on it. Unless you inform your customers that SF intends to devalue their policies and request that they contact SF to express their displeasure about it, it will happen in your state. SF will not listen to you, or the NWRA, but they do listen to their customers.

We have been advising our customers and giving them handouts with appropriate contact info. SF (Bloomington) called and asked that we please stop. When we refused, they pulled our O&A; which means nothing now that SF's policy has changed and we can still bill it through LYNX and get paid directly from LYNX. They don't send the check to the customer anymore.

The handout we distribute can be seen at :
windshield-repair/2410-a-notice-for-you ... omers.html

Please use it and mobilize your customers. Your customers will appreciate it and SF will listen as they begin to call and write.

Don't sit idly by; Make a difference for yourself and your industry and get proactive.

Delta Kits:

As I read these threads about SF 6127, I see Delta's refusal to accept and acknowledge that SF's policy will be implemented nationally, even though Bob Bischoff's comments have indicated this; if not outright said it depending on your interpretation of his public comments.

Why is this, Delta? Are you honestly unaware of what's occurring, or is there perhaps a profit motive to your apparent state of denial? Selling your products may be a bit tougher if 20-25% of potential windshield repair customers were to disappear due to SF 6127. But I think your existing customers, who have been loyal to Delta, deserve better.

No, I don't remember ever receiving a fax that they weren't waiving the deductible for State Farm. I was told it by Lynx when I received the job. I have a State Farm job on Thursday that came in with $0. deductible. I don't know if the customer has $0. ded. or maybe they are still under last year's policy and the terms will change when they renew.
