If nobody mind can I throw my suggestion in, we do not do much in the way of headlight restoration although I may of done about 1/2 dozen deep scratches. I would sugest anyone getting into this business does a little research into the price of lights and lenses, so that if a dealer tells you they can buy them for $40 you can say that they cannot and if they can you will give them a drink for the information. Most dealers will use this ploy to keep the price down. Do not let them fool you.

hey bois... i looked on internet under headlight lens....just to see what lens were going for..most were over100.00 each.. some way over..mercury g/m
was 42.00 each.. still cheaper to have them cleaned..some places will always blow smoke on prices just to get you to lower your price..its not for everybody..i've had no problem with most used car lots getting 50.00...
but every part of country is different

I regret that i didn't put my 2 cents worth earlier but i wanted to see how this subject progressed. Since i started in this business about a year ago,i thought that headlight restoration would be a very good add-on to windshield repair,so i started to research what was available and found there were several systems that i thought were worth investigating. After trying a lot of the cheaper systems i found one that was real nice. It was reasonably priced, high quality componets,easy to follow directions,very good results,and very good support. As far as marketing i use it on wsr business card and try to do my restorations in view of the public, you would be surprised at the number of people who come up to me and say "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" cha- ching!!JOHN

David,Check out "headlighthero.com."I watched the guy do a couple and it took about 15 mins. to do a set and he charged $40.00.The kit and training cost $3500.00 which includes training,tent,banners and enough polish and his patented coating to do about 100 sets of headlights.The finale clear coat was amazing.

I have tried so many products out there and have to say that Rightlook's Headlight Restoration Kit is 'among' the best. Most of its consumables ie sandpaper, gloves, paper towels, ets. can be bought @ hardware stores.

I just got off the phone with the owner of IPS and I"m not too impressed with the guy. Our conversation started out with me asking for information about is products and company. I mistakenly failed to introduce myself and he became very irate and demanded to know to whom he was speaking. I told him and he asked if I had a GM kit or Glassweld kit. I told him I had an old GM kit I perchased years ago but had not used. All he could say was that he lost millions of dollars to these companies. I told him I just want information on his products and that he needed to change his attitude. He hung up on me!:eusa_doh: lol

hey quietman..Dave gittens really is a nice guy..maybe you pushed the wrong buttons..i guess when you have a lot of companies trying to steal your formula and owe you money you might get a little gun shy..i guess thats why you have to go to fla for training ... he really does have a great product..

He treated me the same way when I called him a couple of years ago. I purchased the system from GW and needed supplies that GW no longer carried, was told to call IPS, did so, and he would not sell me anything because I had bought from GW. I no longer use thier stuff.
