You could get them filled. However it would be a waste of a repair techs time and your money. These will not spread.

If you were in my State, I would fill the nik with pit resin. Then cure the resin until it's hard. Then shave the spot down with a razor until it is level with the windshield. Then polish with pit polish. As I said earlier, there would be a tiny spec there, but it would definately not catch on the wipers or your scraper after being razored down and polished.

I wouldn't charge for this service, in hopes that the next time you needed a real repair or replacement, you would call me.

would it be possible for me to buy one of thise home repair kits and put some resin on a toothpick or pin and fill the nick in myself??

No, if you are concerned as to the well being of your windshield I recommend that you consider the following;

Clarity Glass ("look very closely to see if there is a fine crack or if you see black in the chip. If so, then it needs to be filled by a repair tech. If you see no crack or black most likely it's what we refer to as a "pit" and will not spread in either extreme heat or cold. I will fill a couple of these free of charge as a goodwill gesture to my past or potential customers.")

We too provide this service. We do it because if you pass your wipers across broken glass they will get cut and the streaking that results is a permanent situation unless rectified via repair, we do this as a complimentary service to the public. This is not a billable repair as you will find folks who are willing to submit an insurance claim for this service. That is fraud and for that reason as well as good will we provide the service at no cost. It is a very good opportunity to get some pr time to folks who would otherwise not attempt repair!!!

well i suppose its something i could live with (its just off the right of being directly in front of me)
there's no way insurance would even deal with something like that because the marks are so small...they just bother me because they're there.
i would feel better at least trying a home kit rather than paying someone $50 to do the same thing with the resin.

really don't wanna go the insurance route...i'm not only insured thru the company, i also work for them

Don't buy a DIY kit. JAC asked where you live. Someone on this forum will help you if they're close by.

i figure it can't hurt to try a diy kit...the damage is small i should be able to handle it myself. trust me...there's no way safelite would do the work for nothing

i cant believe you are carrying on about this !!!... you come to our web site looking for advice and when you get it you ignore it.. you would rather throw your money on a home kit.. they dont come with film tabs and pit resin.and it still wont look good..you are....i cant say it bye:eusa_doh:
