In regards to the quality of drill bits I have had great results with them not breaking for several years now. I use the ball type carbide tip ones from Glass Magicians. You can find them on-line. Also I agree that you should not leave a broken bit in the repair zone too. With a little practice you can pop them right out allowing the repair to look much better.

Rottdawg, also the word "very" is incorrect in your schedule of hours. Just an observation, trying to help!
