This is a BIG problem everywhere, I am in the UK and have Illegals working here too. I don't want Illegals taking cash from customers and also claiming benifits and taking advantage of our NHS at the same time, whilst I am paying my taxes and National Insurance for them to screw over our country, And I know this happens in your country also. Its not fair and totally unacceptable.
For the honest people out there it is very frustrating.

There are also those Genuine guys who come here to better themselfs and will work for far less than most brits are prepared to and work MUCH HARDER for thier money TOO! Here you just need to go to the local hand car wash and they will give your car a full valet for very little. I see the screen kits being sold to these guys and the 5 minute

First, I am sure this topic will be heated, and I appreciate those who chime in on this thread.

I reside in the Pacific N.W. Here, I have seen "Illegal's" in many different circumstances. In Vermont it's different Glasstars. I don't mean to be difficult but when I lived on the East Coast I was thinking that the folks in Cal or on the West Coast were being buttheads to the immigrants. Then I moved to Portland Oregon. I learned during the ten years I lived there and the seventeen that I lived here that some of the folks who immigrate here are not so savory, they can be downright ugly.

My being from the state of Ohio allows me an insight to your thinking GlassStarz, I remember the folks here on the west coast complaining of issues with the "Mexican’s" when I was in my teens. I thought then that they were being to harsh on some poor individuals who just wanted a better life.

I was wrong. I didn't have an understanding of the truth. I now have it via the illegal's themselves.

They challenge the law on their entry here, they are bringing contraband, (not all, but many) after their arrival MOST are not willing to assimilate (learn English, work toward becoming a citizen), The same people have challenged me on the street, making me feel unwelcome in MY country, (wrong neighborhood?) and threatened me and my family, (that occasion resulted from a wrong turn) I could care less if a person comes to my back yard from ANY part of this planet and performs Windshield repairs in this area, there is plenty of work to go around so it's not an issue. What is an issue are the folks who begin their "occupation" here in OUR country illegally. Their willingness to break the law on their way in the door is a sign of the times. If the country were France or Zimbabwe they would HAVE to provide a visa and reason for being here. My point is our proximity to the boarder to the south is why we here on the West Coast are more affected and sensitive to this issue than say a person in Vermont, you have to live it before you'll understand. Vermont is in another world as compared to what we see and face day in and day out here, you just won't understand until you have lived it, while I agree with you both, I see your points from different times in my life (when I was naive) and today (educated), the fact is you are sheltered GlassStarz, Vermont is a long way from the front, (mexico) notice I didn't cap their countries name that time, also I do not place their flag in a place of prominence, (above the US flag) as the illegal's do in their marches, where they speak only Spanish and protest not being allowed to get their citizenship after breaking our laws and cheating the government etc... My two cents worth

I have no problem with immigration.
I am a naturalized citizen and US Army vet.
If people do not respect our borders and come here illegally and work illegally ; I have a problem with that.
All immigrants should do the proper paperwork and pay the appropriate fees and wait their turn for permission from our government to enter this country and live here permanently. :eusa_naug
Its the law isn't it?

EASY GUYS, Texas, Alabama, California, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona, Florida, I am sure I missed a few, the folks in those states will have a different understanding than a person who is in the New England states. I am sure that Glasstars is just ill informed on this point. Not to offend you Glasstars I have great respect for you and your contribution here.

Try going out and looking for work instead of sitting in a parking lot and hoping it shows up and quit complaining about the guys who actually are going out and hustling to make a living. First it was the evil Safelite that was making it hard for you and now the hordes of ileagals are sinking your ship get a grip I hope I speak for everyone here WE HAVE NO TIME FOR BIGOTRY! I could care less about a guys Nationality,Race or imigration status if he works hard does the best job he can and charges a rate that will feed him and his family its all good with me. Here we are just a couple weeks after MLK in the middle of Black History month and we have some squirell complaining about some guy who lets face it you dont know what his status is he looks different so you assume hes not here legally and as far as sending $ home to his family yup thats unamerican to support ones family by working hard. Once again No place for Biggots here go away!

Well Glass starz, after reading all the other posts I guess that puts you in a boob class where you are the only senior ranking member. It was never my intent to make this a flame war and I won't. But I am willing that
Glass starz name is simular to something like Jose Gomez, well we get the meaning.

One way to sole this illegal problem is to unite and get some good leadership. I don't see any now nor any on the horizon. Americans need to unite on this issue. One thing I am going to post and hope all will copy and send to all they know and take back our country.

The Criminal Factor: Illegal immigrants are a great danger to America. They are all lawbreakers by virtue of entering America illegally, and when they arrive, a significant number continue to break laws; they steal, rape, murder, form and join gangs, sell drugs, and engage in illegal weapons trade. In 2002, illegals cost the federal prison and court systems $1.6 billion. That doesn't include costs incurred by individual states. The state of Arizona spends $80 million each year incarcerating illegals.
"In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens." - City Journal's Heather Mac Donald
The Social Services Factor: Illegals are not American citizens, and yet they sap social services and cost hospitals billions of dollars in unpaid-for health care. In 2002 illegals cost the federal government $2.5 billion in Medicaid, $1.9 billion in food assistance programs, and $2.2 billion in treatment for the uninsured. States near the border suffer the biggest burden. For instance, illegal immigrants' health care costs Arizona alone about $400 million each year. California takes an even bigger hit.
"California's addiction to 'cheap' illegal-alien labor is bankrupting the state and posing enormous burdens on the state's shrinking middle-class tax base," -FAIR President Dan Stein
.
The Disease Factor: Not only are illegal aliens bankrupting hospitals on the U.S. border, they are bringing diseases into the country, including drug-resistant-tuberculosis, leprosy, hepatitis A, and Chagas Disease, an organ-attacking parasite imported from South America.
The Education Factor: The children of illegal aliens cost federal and state government billions each year. These students cost more to teach than other children because many speak only Spanish or other foreign languages, and school systems have to deal with their cultural and language gaps while trying to teach them reading and long division. Immigrants cause overcrowded classes and suck funding that could be going toward helping American kids. California spends $8 billion per year trying to educate the children of illegal immigrants.
The Terrorism Factor: We can only guess how many of America's enemies are in the U.S. illegally. Stopping up our porous borders is vital for our nation's security.
Granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants would be a travesty. It would demonstrate that illegal activity can encourage the American government to change its policies, and it would be a slap in the face to those immigrants who have worked hard to become American citizens by the established legal route.

Do nothing, nothing will happen. Do something, something will happen.

I don't usually get involved in this type of discussion, but I had to. What part of ILLEGAL don't you understand Glasstarz?

A person who breaks our laws should be punished. In this case sent back to their own country. In observing the posts, I see a VERMONT person is speaking pro-illegal, and Southerners, who really see the problem first hand are wanting something done. Well, I will take the first hand feelings. I have seen it here in PA. Five years ago you never saw a Mexican here. Now, well, they are here. Soon they will enter Vermont and maybe Glasstarz's opinion will change.

But, again, it boils down to illegal. If you want to live and work in the USA, then enter our country legally. I would like to see an American enter another country illegally, get illegal employment, live there illegally, and take advantage of the benefits of living in that country. Think it would last? Or even happen?
