I use the Glas-Weld System and have not really encountered the problems your speaking of. I think it's fair to say that I have had repairs that could have been better but not due to trapped air underneath the injector. The injector I use pulls a 26 inch vacuum and if I'm having trouble removing air, several pressure, vacuum cycles generally takes care of the problem. I have to say most (99%) come out meeting my standards but you'll always run into that break that's maybe been on the windshield a long time and has dirt inside the break, or crushed glass that causes the break to be able to be seen better then say a bullseye which is easy. I've used resins with better masking capabilities then other resins which help with crushed glass. An amber or green tint sometimes can hide the breaks better then clear. You must remember that the object is to prevent the customer from replacing the windshield, everything else is a bonus. I do unconditionally GUARANTEE all of my work. If a customer was unhappy with a repair he doesn't have to pay for it. It has only happened once in 18 1/2 years so I feel pretty confident about offering this guarantee. As for fleet vehicles they don't care how it looks unless it's in the critical area, save the windshield, save them money. I have several trucks at New Century Transport with 4 or more repairs on one windshield (most have two shields per truck). I always tell my customers the repair will look 100% better but I'm not a magician, and the object is to prevent it from cracking out saving you money. If you use this qualifier when dealing with the general public you'll have covered your butt. Fleets, no need to worry, once you get them to buy in to what your doing they'll be very happy to see you. I lost a portion of today due to bad weather. I had $300 in by noon and was working on a $600 plus day, tomorrow and Sunday are going to be beautiful so I'll be busting my butt to finish and should make about $800 combined for the two days which will give me a $1500 week.
Cheers,
Scott
