One thing that I sell to my cleints is we do not us 1099 contractors.

MOST fortune 500 companies insurance will not allow this.

MOST DO NOT NEED A C corp (increased taxes and paper work). A simple S corp will work( LOWEST TAX, liability protection and full IRS tax benifits). As well as a sole owner employee (DBA). Just if you are going to DBA why not set up an S corp for only around 400 bucks? Many folks think there is no protection for a S corp.

There is. Just it is minor. You are the number one person. Yet, lets say you have some excessive child support or an ex wife that is chassing your money............. You can as an S corp protect this, Yet hell go for a C corp and be broke your entire life.

I have met many deat beat daads that are broke on PAPER throwing away their kids money. They only earn say 18k a year while their company nets 150k a year. So what is it to them paying the higher tax rate?

I DO NOT SUPPORT FOLKS TRYING TO GET OUT OF PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE!

Think about this. As an elected person I am broke. I hold two different elected offices. Yet, I am broke. They are small low level and the pay is very low.

I set as President and as the CEO of my Corp. I am paid 17k a year to do this. I pay my self 17k to do this. That is all I get in pay. The corp provides the Vehicals, Housing, pro lic help, HECK my live stock are owned by the corp. I AM JUST AN EMPLOYEE.

As president I put to the board that I thought the company needed a 500k yatch last year. The board approved. Now, I have a nice boat.

YET, we get taxed like no tomarrow. I think it is 38% AFTER costs. Yet many of the costs are as you would say hidden. Like the boat. Dose the company need it? It has made us more then it cost in just marketing.

Our homes, our shops, heck even our antiques. The company ownes them. I am just a low wage guy that has more then I can ever spend in the bank. YET, I qualify for Medicaid and can get food assistance if I wanted it. NOT NEEDED IT JUST WANTED IT.

Heck at times I have to remind my self I am a republican not a democrate.

I would go with a business lic. & dba. An EIN is a simple online process. just google EIN. That way you don't have your SSN floating all over the place.

Some folks just insist on making things difficult and confusing You dont need much more that a buisness licence and a registered DBA if you are an individual only when you start adding employees do you need to deal with the extra bs dont let all the other stuff keep you from going into WR its not needed insure with RLI about $200 yr depending where you are file a dba and go to work

some states require a buisness or tax licence here a DBA is all one needs since we collect no sales tax on WR try the search archive option RLI has been talked about here for years lots of info to be found my advice is do some research it looks like you might be a little out of the loop with buisness practices maybe go to your town clerk and ask what is needed?

In Texas, filing for a DBA just, legally, shows that you operate under an assumed name. And, it protects your DBA name so no one else can use it within the counties you operate. A sales tax id is completely different than your SS. In TX you don't need a sales tax id for labor only activity.
