I use a Delorme Earthmate USB in my big truck hooked up to my laptop. It work great.. It also does recalculating if you make a mistake.

SQ,
Iam using a Garmin Street Pilot I3 in Michigan and don't know how I did it before without one. When I bought it about a year ago I bought it on a military base for about $250.

TomTom and Garmin both have great GPS systems. May want to watch sites like woot.com who blow them out usually weekly. Amazon is also known to have great deals on GPS systems.

I use the Garmin Nuvi. It is slim and has a large screen. Very easy to update by just taking it into the house and plugging in a wire to the lap top.

The screen is the size of a credit card and the unit is not even 1/2 inch thick.

I do update mine monthly. It is free to update and it has been a huge life saver.

No more calling for directions just need a address.

You hit a back up on the interstate, just hit detour and it gets you off the next exit and runs you around it.

THEY ARE CHEAP even at 2k. I drove trucks for many years. I wish these were available then.

Another great bargain site is bensbargains.net. They do not actually sell anything on the site but post all the great deals out there and the promo codes. They have a great deal of electronics. Check it daily as some of the best deals may only be short life promos.

Same here. I normally just mapquest all my jobs the night before.. Seems to work great and it saves you 200.00-600.00 on a gps unit.. I think the only way they would come in handy is if you are already out in the field and you receive a call..
