I haven't seen a price we can't match so far on the bubble domes, and ours now come with 5 suction cups rather than the the industry standard of 3. Let's make a deal!

I have never heard that, and frankly don't know that we have ever tested older domes with a UV radiometer. They seem to still work well, but that is something that we will need to test now that the subject has been brought up. Or...all you guys could just buy new bubble domes from Delta Kits every year!

Seriously though, we will throw a dome up on the roof and test it in a year to see if the UV resistance is affected by age. Of course a year of use in Arizona is going to be a bit different than a year of use in Oregon.

Brent,what is the uv shield made of? If is made from polycarbonate, then it should block a 100% of the uv rays for life and also be impact resistant ,but also easily scratched. To clean be sure to wet first with mild soap and water and wipe very lightly with a soft cloth,and never a paper towel!

I prefer the plastic sheet its easier for me the Dome you have to go at a angle to reach under it

I'm not sure exactly what it is made of, but it does scratch fairly easily. Our pit polish does a pretty good job of removing light scratches from a clean dome. I'm no expert in plastics, but I know we did try a number of different materials before finding one that blocked out over 99% of the UV light.

It sounds like you know more about plastics than I do, so I'll take your word for it, but will also do some testing after a dome has been exposed to the elements for several months.

No, UV rays can still penetrate cured resin.
