How do you tent pros go about securing a location? I have my eye on a corner lot in a strip mall and I am not sure if I need to ask permission from the business on the corner or the Mgt. company that rents the storefronts.

I think most of the time the lot is the property of and run by the owner or manager of the property. But you might contact the business owner first to see about this as your business might bring him extra business. If he has the authority he can authorize it or put in a good word for you. If he doesn't want you there and is hostile or something (unlikely) you probably wouldn't want to be there anyway.

You can go online to most county chancery clerk sites and do a land records search. There you can find the owner of the land and contact information on some sites. Then you will know who to ask promission. I've found that alot of property is owned by out of state owners
