That means you where logged in already. The box is all grey untill you start typing. Once you type in the box it will put messages up on the board.

Shouldn't I then be seeing people in there and text as they type?

This is a brand new chat room, last night I think there was 5 people in there at once it's in the building stage I popped in and out last night to see if anyone was on keep trying soon you will see lots of us staying on more. Looks like nights or rainy days are going to be the best time..
