DASARO wrote:Hi Kgobin,
I received you information and was contacted by ???? I was driving at the time and was in the middle of a rain storm so I didn't hear for sure who it was, the only thing I got was that Wade was going to call me! He may have, but I run a very time senstive route M-F and could have missed his call very easy.
The reason they called was that I said I was going to order the complete HL kit this past week and I need to know what grinder and polisher they would be sending, so I was looking for a picture. LOL Yea! I'm one of them people who like pictures. Develop shows a grinder and the polisher, but as you look through there material it shows another one looking like a drill, I just want to know what I'm getting.
Now who ever called said they were out of polishers, (don't quote me) but that's what I thought he said. I want to get this ordered and I would rather order from Delta over someone else because I do plan on buying a WS kit when the weather warms up. I have several HL buckets sitting in my shed that is just waiting for me to have some fun and learn, where it is nice and warm this winter (that's if there is such a thing as warm in Iowa)
You can either email me or if I need to call, I do have the phone number. Just let me know.
I work tomorrow (Monday) from 5am until 330pm CST and then I will be off on Tuesday until 230pm CST, then I'm on call that afternoon and evening.

Dan
I was out of the office attending the 2008 NACE Expo in Las Vegas last week. I apologize that we do not have any pictures of the kit up yet, but we are in the process of updating our catalogs and pictures. I can take a picture of the headlight restoration kit and email it you. I will be in the office all week 7am until 5pm PST. Please call or email me when you find time and I have the answer to all of your questions.
Respectfully,

HI KOREY,
Glad to hear you are back to work after playing in Vegas, LOL. It a tough haul doing a convention.
OK, I will bite and ask for more info. Wade did briefly show me the Headlight Restoration Kit, but if you have further details, I would appreciate it.
Again thanks for all the help and ask for a few hours off.

My Delta HL kit was waiting for me when I got home yesterday, check it all out, read everything, watched the video and this afternoon after work I did my first HL. I learned something right off, LOL that head light needs to be in the vehicle or something to hold it down. I ended up putting it in the dish strainer to hold it in place.
Tomorrow I'm going to figure a way to tie the bucket down before I start. But all in all the first HL came out pretty darn nice! I have 5 more HL out of the vehicle to do before doing my Windstar.

I do have a question or two for the more experienced. What kind of tape do you use for masking? And is there any HL's that this procedure won't work on?

I have another question, I mixed the UV as instructed and, it said one cap full of each should do 2 HL's, I put it all on one HL, I just look at the HL, looks great except the UV mark very easy, as if it wasn't dry.
What did I do wrong?

Thanks,
Dan

Hello Dan,
You might want to use one of the remaining headlights for a demo that you restore on one side only. Be sure to use one
which has no leaks or other internal damage. I always use a non-abrasive wax on the restored portion (let UV coating
cure several days before waxing), because people always want to feel the before & after. This has been a great sales
tool for me!

First, let me say that I am glad to hear that you received your headlight restoration system and your first headlight came out fine. To answer your question, I use Scotch blue masking tape that has a medium adhesion and I have not encountered any headlights that the system will not work on.

Not sure what you mean by the UV Mark, but it sounds like you may have put the coating on a bit too thick which can cause streaking. You also don't want to go over the light more than once as the coating will begin to cure quite quickly and excessive wiping will cause streaking. If you get the coating on quickly with slightly overlapping strokes, making sure you get all around the edges, the coating will self level and you should see little or no streaking.

Thanks for the feedback, when I said the UV mark, what I should have said was when I touched the HL after putting the UV on that it marked up very easy, I realize now that I was going over and over the same UV trying to use up the material. After doing two more HL's this afternoon I had better luck. I put on one coat of UV and it dried fast and looks great.
I think I might be getting the hang of this. LOL I still have 4 more HL's (not in a vehicle) to practice on and then I will try my luck on my Windstar, my wife's beetle bug and this week end my kids are coming over for the day, hum! I wonder what they have on there mind. LOL I should get lots of practice.

KGobin, I would like the price list and information on the H/L restoration products you have e-mailed to me. Sounds like it might be nice add-on service for me.
Thanks,
