It's important to inspect cracks in this manner before, during, and after the repair process. When you find the right angle you should be able to see the resin flow into the break as it is filled.

Certainly sounds like contamination to me, it can sometime be hard to see without a thourough inspection from all angles before filling, but certainly can and will if it is there show afterwards.
Frank we teach loookinf form different angles of cross referening as part of our training, you may be suprised at how many long time techs do not know this part of the job.
