I find the kits are stuffed with stuff you dont need get a delta catalog and ask one of the old pros here (DC ?) and order what you need

I use a glass tech system for a few years and it worked fine,also used a ageis system to and it work fine now I have a delta sytem and it works great, I havent done enought repairs to make a good decision yet but it looks and feels like a good system, the injector looks good and the mounting bracket is easy to adjust.

When considering the purchase of a repair kit, one should consider several factors:

1) Quality! Not all repair kits are created equal. Most of the big name companies that have been in business for many years offer quality repair kits. They wouldn't be in business if they didn't.

I've tried many different repair systems and can tell you that most will do a good repair. With that said and without naming names, there are repair systems out there that are being sold that do not do good repairs.

So, just be careful in your selection. My advice would be to stick to the major players in this industry when making your decision.

2) Length of time in business! Aligning yourself with a company that has been in business for a long time makes sense for several reasons:

a) They are not in it to just make a quick buck and get out.

b) You will not be stuck with a repair kit that you can't get supplies and parts for as sometimes happens when a fly-by-night company sells kits and then closes shop.

3)Support system!I cannot stress enough how important this is. This is extremely important and can be crucial to your success. It doesn't matter if the repair system is the greatest in the world....without a great support system, you're chances of success are cut in half at a minimum.

My advice is to thoroughly check out the companies you're leaning towards. ASK QUESTIONS! Write down a list of questions before you call and go down your list one-by-one.

Order literature packs, study them. But by no means should you base your buying decision on which company has the prettiest marketing package.

Delta Kits is one of those companies that offers a quality repair system, good resins and a great support system. From my many conversations with the staff, they strike me as a company that REALLY CARES and not just in this business for the money.

To anyone contemplating getting into the windshield repair business, just do your research and you'll be fine.

Thanks of that post. I do have to disagree with one thing you mentioned. You said stick with a company that has been in business a while. I know several companies (I won't mention names) that have been in business a while and all they care about is collecting your money and running. They really don't care about quality. You see that is the problem with some companies today. They promise you the world and give you nothin.

I have seen many, many examples of windshield repair companies that go to someone that doesn't know the biz. They seam like they are offering to help and inform and in reality all they care about is how much money can you pay them. You are right when you mention Delta Kits, thats why I personly use them and endorse their product.

Again the only thing I disagree with is the comment about them just being in business for a long time they have to be doing something right. Lots of business stay in business because they know how to get customers really well, however they never get any repeat business. Thats because when people use them they really feel like they have been taken advantage of. I just bring this up because it has happened to me. Other then that one point though, I do agree with your post.

I admit I haven't dealt with all of the companies that have been around for awhile. Sounds like you've tried some repair systems from companies that have been in business awhile, but didn't care about the customers succeeding or not.

Thanks for the heads up and keep up the good advice (posts) here in the forums. From reading your posts, it appears that you devote a considerable amount of time to helping others. This is a rarity in this world.

I wish you continued "Great Success" in your business. I'm sure that you will be rewarded in your life for the time you put into your posts and helping others.

When just starting out in windshield repair, do not spend thousands on a repair kit. Make sure this is something you want to do before making an investment like that.

Start off with a reasonably priced kit. Delta offers a low-priced starter system that has everything you need to get started. I'm sure they'll even customize a startup package for you.

Just beware of the companies that want to sell you a $3,000-$4,000 start up package. These companies know that the majority of the people who purchase one of these kits will not ever go in business or will be out of business within 6-months to a year, if that.

So be cautious, do your research and then decide on which repair kit looks right for you.
